Miss Teen US Continental Annilie Hastey is very much your average teen. This 14-year-old spends much of her life in high school, shooting baskets with friends, and, of course, on the requisite trips to the mall and late-night Instant Messaging marathons. But look in between the pages of Teen Vogue, Seventeen, Family Circle, Teen Espanol, Cosmopolitan Espanol and that's where "average" no longer applies to the Miami native. Modeling since the age of infancy and the child of an American and a Cuban woman, Annilie has developed a style and look that is both unique and yet very familiar to teens around the globe -- and very much in demand. But what is beauty without heart? In between photo shoots, casting calls, and the ever important professional coaching sessions, Annilie gives. She tutors younger students, while keeping an A-average herself. She helps creates blankets for children in hospitals. She seeks out organizations that focus on children and simply asks: "How can I help?" Trained in theatre, dance, voice and keyboards, and with a portfolio to make any casting director melt, her future certainly has "red carpet" written all over it. But Annilie is ready for anything, whether or not her path takes her to Hollywood or Cannes, she is solid in her desire and drive to complete her academic career with a degree in business management. And, again, unlike the average teen -- Annilie has already paid for that education through her participation in the Miss Teen US Continental pageant -- and her appearances in print, billboards and television. Annilie Hastey is truly a "model" of a teen ---- in every sense of the word.
